The LEGO store in the Riverchase Galleria, Birmingham Alabama, opened in August 2009. Some of it features are a Pick A Brick wall, an interactive play area in the center of the store and several LEGO model displays.

This is an ambitious project that aims to map all LEGO events, brand stores, LEGOLANDs and User Groups to make it easier to find things near you. It's certainly not the easiest thing to do, but man is it fun. You can help by either commenting on existing things or add new stuff.
